We’ve been busy!

Over the last several weeks our Heroes In Waiting team has been in full production mode, scripting, revising, and filming each of the 12 amazing lessons in our soon-to-be-released Heroes In Waiting anti-bullying and peace-building program for kids.

Anchored by beloved Oklahoma personalities Malcolm Tubbs – who you may recognize from his energetic presence at OKC Thunder basketball games or on Oklahoma City’s Fox 25 morning show – and Scottie Hines – formerly of KFOR’s In Your Corner fame – this dream team includes curriculum developers, videographers, producers, and directors…all with a heart for kids and a passion for peace-building.

“As a kid who experienced bullying behavior myself, I am thrilled to be a part of a program that’s trying to stop those cycles and help kids in real ways,”

Malcom Tubbs

Hines couldn’t agree more. “I can’t even believe that I get to wake up every morning and do this work,” he says. “It really is a dream job.”

The best part? Filming in Century Martial Arts’ studios. Century developed the original Heroes In Waiting curriculum more than a decade ago, so getting to produce this new and expanded version in their state-of-the-art facilities felt a lot like coming home.

Heroes In Waiting exists to ensure the human rights of children everywhere, and to empower youth to be peace builders in a changing world. Our new 12-week program goes beyond anti-bullying to incorporate current, trauma-informed research and best practices for meeting kid’s core needs of safety and belonging, and cultivating an environment where they can learn and grow.
